Pringle Of Scotland

Today in London, Pringle of Scotland will preview their Fall 2011 collection.  The company's history of cardigans and cashmere twinsets would surprise anyone by the eccentric runway shows that it exhibits today.   Robert Pringle started the company in 1815 on the Scottish borders of Scotland, and it has come a long way since his day and age.

The twinset and the argyle pattern were started by Pringle's first designer, Otto Weisz, in 1870.

In the 80's and 90's top British golf players began being sponsored by Pringle which helped make it a household brand.

In 1948, Pringle was granted the royal warrant of appointment to Her Majesty the Queen Mother.
Pringle even opened a cashmere bar in Harvey Nichols selling the "must have" cashmere twinsets that were so very popular.

Richard Gere appeared on the front cover of Men's Vogue wearing Pringle in 1978.

Creative Director, Claire Waight Keller, was hired in 2006 and has taken Pringle in a positive direction leading the company to not only increased revenue, but also to fashion week in London today.

A view of a few new pieces for Pringle of Scotland Fall 2011.

I love the color of this short warm dress.

These small pants with pockets are divine!

Contrasting elements of sweater fabrics such as wool and cashmere with sequins.

Such a lovely addition of fox resting on the shoulder of this modern coat.

Handsome men's outerwear.
